Where is God?
WHERE IS GOD? Where can I find Him? ANSWER - He is in the SECRET PLACE. Matt 6:6: “But you, when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.” The SECRET PLACE is a place of seclusion, out of the eyesight of other people. To “shut the door” expresses a place of privacy where you can be ALONE with God!
The SECRET PLACE doesn’t have to be a room in a house, where it isn’t always suitable and convenient to be without distractions and hindrances. It means any place where you are ALONE with God. Adam was alone with God in a garden. Jesus got alone with His Father in a desert place. I had a canal at the side of my house and because of distractions from a young family, I walked the towpath of the canal. I could pray out loud unhindered!
What an immense privilege it is to come into the SECRET PLACE, into the presence of a Holy God 24/7. How wonderful it is to have free access to the Father’s throne in prayer. How truly expensive that free access was, for it cost Jesus His Life. But the Great promise is — that the God that we meet in the SECRET PLACE will reward us OPENLY. Hebrews 11:6 says, “God is the rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” GOD ANSWERS PRAYER!
