Run!
Let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. Heb. 12:1-2
‘Let us avoid sin and run with perseverance’, initially that may seem like a huge responsibility that is placed on us. It may read as; ‘we’ need to be extremely careful how ‘we’ live. The verse then says, ‘Jesus’ is the author of our faith, ‘Jesus’ started faith in us. It was not our idea, therefore the responsibility rests on Jesus not us: our faith is ‘His’ idea. Not only Did God start us on our Christian journey ‘He’ will also perfect it. ‘He’ will bring it to completion, ‘He’ will ensure that we make it. So how do we navigate life with all its traps, snares, and pitfalls? Not by striving by our own effort, rather, by fixing our eyes on Jesus, and by resting in ‘His’ ability to keep us.
