Pour Out!
“Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them." John 7:38
The gift of the Spirit is not only to bless you but also to bless others around you. Along the border of Israel lies the river Jordan, it feeds two seas: The Sea of Galilee and the Dead Sea. The Sea of Galilee is filled with fish and teeming with life; the dead sea is, well, dead. They are both in a similar climate, they are both in Israel, they both have the same water source. So, what is the difference? Water that does not flow stagnates. Unlike The Sea of Galilee, the dead sea has no outlet. It continually has water pouring in but no water pouring out. The rivers of the Spirit, that Jesus has promised to put within those who believe, are supposed to flow out of you to others. The Spirit is a flowing river He is not a reservoir. To put it another way: ‘Freely you have received; freely give.’ (Matt. 10:8)
