Great is Thy Faithfulness

“GREAT IS THY FAITHFULNESS” Lam. 3v23. 200 years ago, the US marines were contemplating a fitting motto for themselves, and finally chose the Latin phrase - “Semper fidelis” which means “ALWAYS FAITHFUL!” These 2 words are important, but the most important is the first word. WHY? Because a marine cannot afford to be faithful ONLY when it’s comfortable, or convenient, or when he feels like it. “Semper fidelis” means you must be ALWAYS faithful, regardless of the cost. On the battlefield as well as in the barracks!

God wants to say the same about you - semper fidelis - ALWAYS FAITHFUL. Don’t be temperamental, unreliable, a careless Christian with changing mood swings that no - one can depend on.  God wants to say the same of YOU that you say of Him  “Great is YOUR faithfulness!”

“Semper fidelis” is the one tremendous way to describe our Lord Jesus Christ — he is ALWAYS FAITHFUL! He will never let you down! We know we can rely upon Him. “For He who promised is faithful” Heb. 10v23. “I will declare your loving kindness in the morning, and your faithfulness every night!” Ps. 92v2. He is Faithful 24/7. GREAT is Thy Faithfulness!
