Do not show Favouritism
James 2v1 NLT “DON’T SHOW FAVOURITISM” - giving special attention to the rich man with a gold ring and shun the poor man in shabby clothes. “Don’t discriminate among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts” James 2v4. John Wesley said, “We should be rigorous in judging ourselves but be gracious in judging others!”
The story is told that when country singer Lonzo Green’s nephew Jimmy asked him to tune a friend’s guitar, he agreed. The problem was Jimmy’s friend was from the ‘wrong side of the tracks’, and Jimmy’s parents would not allow him inside their house. So, they decided to meet outside. As the kid approached, Green noticed his self-consciousness and sideways glances at the upscale neighbourhood. Lonzo tuned the boy’s old guitar, sung a few songs and taught him some chords. Everything changed a while later when the kid with his guitar and soft polite drawl became well known - ELVIS PRESLEY!
Jesus Himself experienced the pain of rejection and misunderstanding, “He came unto his own but his own received him not.” Jesus bore a stigma because of his home and upbringing. “Can any good thing come out of Nazareth?” The answer is YES! Jesus was the Lord of Glory, who is now praised and worshipped by believers all over the world. One day He will rule as King of Kings and Lord of Lords! JESUS SHALL REIGN!
