God heals grief

“To every thing there is a season... a time to weep, and a time to laugh." Eccles 3v4.

Sorrow comes in many forms. You can lose your job, or your home, or your health. But nothing hurts more than losing someone you love dearly. Waves of grief will come at you like the ocean throwing its waves on to the beach. But don’t stop there allowing yourself to be pulled under by the current.

Grieving relieves the soul, like exhaling carbon dioxide relieves the body. But there comes a point at which you must get up and go on. The initial stage of grief must be followed by the stage of acceptance. David said “ Yea though I walk ‘THROUGH' The Valley of the shadow of death!" We pass ‘Through’ The Valley, But we DON’T STAY THERE! We are able to look back with more gratitude and less grief. Jesus the Shepherd was with us. We experienced the blessings of His presence and peace. We were strengthened to move forward!

And don’t be afraid to indulge in those rare moments of laughter that come even in the face of heartbreak. Don’t feel guilty. Laughter medicates the soul and alleviates the tension of those times. It is a healing balm - “a merry heart doeth good like a medicine" Prov 17v22. We prove that “the joy of the Lord is our strength!"
